Hampel is certified ISO 9001:2000, an international business
standard adopted by numerous countries around the world.
ISO specifies a process approach to improve effectiveness
of a company’s quality management system. Hampel has
embraced this standard to enhance customer satisfaction
by better understanding our customer’s needs.
PPAPS,
V Studies and other Quality Measures;
Hampel engages in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) techniques.
APQP is a quality framework used for developing new products
that can be applied to any industry. Embodied in Hampel’s
APQP framework is a robust Production Part Approval Process
(PPAP), which includes Design and Process FMEA's, Process Flow
Diagrams, Gage R & R's, and Variability Process Capability
Studies using our Coordinate Measuring Machine (pictured left).
From these activities, Hampel develops a quality control plan
for controlling the production process.
Lean
Initiative
Hampel recognized long ago that in order to survive in today’s
highly competitive global economy, non-valued added activities
must be removed from its systems, procedures and processes.
Thus began Hampel’s lean journey. All manufacturing cells
are configured for continuous flow. Other tenants of lean, including
5S, value stream mapping and kanban are employed daily. Realizing
that lean is a journey not a destination, Hampel continues to
make improvements every day.
